in the truest sense of the word, too!
enter stage right:
a set of fugly stitch markers. these were free in a magazine and came to me through circumstance, third hand. i find them rather unattractive and bulky. taking them out of the package proves it. they are plastic heart beads with insipid rhinestones in the middle. they offend with their very bland/chaffy nature. [please note: i thought i pulled "chaffy" out of my ass but lo and behold: it is indeed a real word.]
broken, hopelessly tangled mismatched earrings that was found in the dumpster, in the literal sense of the word. some good old fashioned dumpster diving brought these back from the brink. they're not something i'd wear anyway.
the stitch markers and broken earrings dance and sway with the music and fall in love. 10 minutes later they give birth to babies:
attractive stitch markers!
no? well at least they're an improvement over blue plastic hearts with chaffy rhinestones. i'm sending these as an extra in a swap package for someone who was rather nice enough to help me to further expand my gastronomic horizons. ::swoon!::
speaking of which--those vegan faux samoas BELOW? ::points down:: i've now had the chance to eat, oh, about ::coughsevencough:: of them and they are unbelievably f-ing good!!!!!!!!! f the girl scout cookie version!!! (no offense little girl scouts of the world! i still love *you*!)
in fact, that i am making a note to post the recipe.
*ahem*
(see, i really hate typing up recipes. so when i say "yeah, sure, i'll post that recipe" i really mean "oy. i hate typing up recipes. what can i do to put that chore off...hmm...i think i need to go floss again...maybe 'what about jim' is on..."
but i mean it this time, pals. i mean it. i *mean* it. they're too f-ing good keep to me own self!!)
this christmas i decided i wanted to make my sister a necklace out of felt beads. i'd never worked with felt before because i'm not a fan of animal products like wool but i swapped around and traded something i made for some wool roving. making the beads was fun but definitely a summertime activity. you have to keep your hands wet and roll the beads around in cold water. i could only do a few at a time.
anyway, i just finished the necklace last week:
