i had a revelation last week with regards to makeup.

i make my own mineral makeup foundation. i have for about a year and a half now and i love it so, so much. it's pretty simple to make using one of the various kits now available. i bought some micas (green, pink) when i bought my kit, hoping to make some eye colors but i never did. i followed one recipe i found online for MM eyeshadow and it was a disaster. so i resigned myself to making only foundation.

i fell in love with MAC eyeshadows around christmas of last year. they are so expensive, though! anyway, for some reason while looking their pigments online last week it suddenly dawned on me how to make my own eyeshadows. so i ordered a mica sample pack from TKBtrading. i got them on saturday and spent some time today playing. here are the results of today's session:

blue eyeshadows

close up greens and blues

pinks and purples

i just used the two teal-ish colors in the top photos on my eyes as a test and those colors are intense!! not really my color normally but they were so much fun to make. the possibilities with my pigments and micas are very near infinite! whee!!!!!!!!
